Other participants, or 29% of them, stated that they planned to keep their new sofas for 15 years or even longer.
When it comes to the purchasing habits among different age groups, however, Baby Boomers are more likely to spend the most. While they usually set a budget of $3,000.00 for redecorating, Generation Xers tend to budget $2,500.00 and Millennials, $1,500.00. The average consumer within the United States, however, is usually prepared to spend $2,200.00 on redecorating their living rooms alone. It is interesting to note that Millennials have been purchasing more furniture over the past few years. Between 2012 to 2014, for example, they increased their furniture spending by 142%.
