Reasons Why You Should Donate to Charity

Every single year in the United States more than 12 million tons of clothing and textile waste is thrown out. Some of us are not too good with math, but that’s a lot of waste.

Making charitable donations has many benefits for not only the environment, but for each individual person in the world. There are many charity organizations all over the country that are there for you to take your old clothes, textiles, and anything else that you don’t need so that you can give them to someone who does.

Here are some benefits of making charitable donations:

  • Remove Junk — Getting rid of all that junk in your house can be great for you and the family. One man’s junk is another man’s treasure, I believe is the saying, and it makes sense. All that stuff in your basement and attic and garage and spare room and on and on, that stuff adds up. Removing all that stuff from your house will give you a great amount of new storage room. Plenty of the stuff that you might think is junk can be used for helping families in need.
  • Protect the Environment — Preserving the environment should not just be an option for people anymore. It’s one of the most important issues going on in the world today. Charitable donations are there so that you do not have to throw out things that can be easily recycled. Protect the environment today to preserve it for the future.
  • Fell Better About Yourself — Making clothing donations instead of just throwing them in the garbage will genuinely make you feel better. Along with helping the environment, you’ll know that your clothes and items are going to a good charity organization that will pass your items along to those in need and it could potentially end up saving their lives.

In the United States, the clothing and textile recycling industry accounts for about 17,000 jobs. It’s a large industry because people are starting to be more aware of how donations can help the environment, people in need, and themselves.
