The first thing to keep in mind is that sunlight will be coming through your windows and shining on the flooring. You will want it to bounce off the flooring at a certain angle to optimize the visual appeal. Therefore, run your flooring away from your window. In other words, the long end of each plank should be facing towards and away from your windows. This seems to be the preferred method of many professionals. However, in the end, it is your flooring and you get to choose what you like the best. While there are preferred methods, there are no rules that say you need to install your flooring one way or another.
