The Kids Have Head Lice? Easy Treatment is Possible

Oh no! You aren’t sure how it happened, but your child has lice. Contrary to popular belief, lice don’t jump from person to person. These tiny insects require close contact, like sharing hats or bumping heads. If your child has lice, they likely got it from a friend. So, what do you do when they have it? You want to get rid of the lice quickly.

Lice can lay eggs up to 10 times per day, so they multiply quickly. They bite the scalp because they live off of human blood. Even for an adult, that image can be a terrifying one. No one wants their head to be a grazing field for bugs. A bottle of lice removal shampoo can help.

Seat your child under a bright light to check for lice. Part their hair into sections to examine more closely. You will likely find nits, or lice eggs, sticking to their hair. These do not remove easily without a special nit brush. Lice removal shampoo helps by killing the lice, but it won’t kill the eggs. Be sure to leave the shampoo on for a few minutes to allow the formula to work.
