Things You Need to Know About Paint Rolling
If you are considering painting your family’s home in the near future, there is something you need to know. What paint roller you choose will have a huge impact on the quality of the end product. It may not seem like a big deal, but a good roller will make the paint go on better and look nicer. In this video, you will learn more. Of course, if you don’t have the time or patience to do it yourself, consider hiring a professional house painter.
Before you go out and buy a paint roller, we need to determine a few things. First, how textured is the wall that you will be painting? You will need different rollers based on the texturing of the walls.
Quarter inch rollers are great for smooth walls. One inch rollers are great for popcorn texture and other deep textures. These bristles can easily penetrate such textures to ensure that the paint goes on smoothly. If the wall is something in between, consider a medium 3/8 inch paint roller.
When the time comes to get painting, make sure to overlap your roller strokes. You don’t want to have to go back and paint areas that you missed originally. Most places recommend roller strokes by 30% to 50%.
